Lavandula
The family of Lavendula (Lavendar) is a flowering member of the mint family Lamiaceae.
Lavendar in ancient times was believed to have special powers attributed to it,
namely: Love, Chastity, Peace, Longevity, Protection, Sleep, Purification and Happiness.
Lavendar and Love have been beleived to go together and thus love letters were sprinkled
with lavendar essense in order to increase the potency. Ladies of the night would
also wear Lavander fragrance in the belief that the aroma could attract more males.
