Protection can be obtained by covering in fleece

Carrot fly detects suitable plants by using scent. Plants with a strong aroma can be planted around the periphery of the plot. French Marigolds are said to be suitable although little evidence is available.

Thompson and Morgan amongst others, are now selling seeds of carrots that resist carrot fly attack See Daucus carota 'Fly Away'

Plants Attacked:
Not only carrots but also parsnip, parsley and celery
